Terms of engagement

By sending an enquiry, paying a deposit, or confirming a start week in writing, you accept these terms. If you are commissioning on behalf of a company, you confirm you have authority to bind that company. The work

We provide research sittings, written briefs, and facilitated briefings about how named features in a productivity app are found, tried, kept, or left. We do not design your interface, write your release notes, instrument your product, or guarantee that a feature will be used more often after the study. Quotes describe scope; work outside that scope needs a new written agreement.

Your materials

You remain responsible for lawful access to accounts, staging builds, and contact lists you send us. You must not ask us to observe records we are not permitted to see, including payroll files and medical notes. If a participant withdraws consent mid-session, we stop and that sitting is still billable unless we caused the withdrawal.

Intellectual property

The written brief and the one-page decision note are licensed to you for internal product decisions once the balance is paid. You may share them with employees and contractors who need them for that work. You may not republish them as a public report, a marketing case, or a training course without our written consent. Interview recordings, if any, stay with us unless the quote says otherwise; excerpts in the brief are cleared with the participant as described in the study outline. Our method notes, screening templates, and this website remain ours.

Confidentiality

We keep your unpublished product plans, account lists, and draft features confidential. You keep participant identities confidential except where a person has agreed in writing to be named. We may describe the kind of app (for example, “a task list used by warehouse teams”) in later conversation without naming you, unless you ask us in writing to stay silent on even that.

Fees and timing

A deposit of forty percent holds the start week. The balance is due on delivery of the brief. Late payment may delay the product-lead sitting. Fees are in Malaysian ringgit unless the quote says otherwise. Recruitment time is part of the fee; it is not a free extra if finding people takes the whole of week one.

Liability

We take care with notes and consent. We are not liable for decisions you take after reading a brief, for a fall in use of a feature, or for a dispute between you and your users. Our total liability for a given engagement is limited to the fees you paid for that engagement, except where Malaysian law does not allow a limit (for example, fraud or personal injury we cause). We are not liable for lost profits, lost data in your own systems, or indirect loss.

Websites and this site

This website is informational. Forms send a mock acknowledgement for demonstration of the enquiry path; a confirmed booking exists only when we reply in email and you accept a quote. Nothing on the site is legal, financial, or employment advice.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of Malaysia. Courts of Malaysia have exclusive jurisdiction, with a preference for the courts of Selangor for disputes that can be heard there. If a clause is held unenforceable, the rest remains in force.
